The legs are a significant source of power in our body. They carry and balance our bodies, and are considered the most powerful set of muscles we have.
Strengthening the legs is one of the main priorities of our Shorin Ryu Karate training, and includes developing both flexibility and stretch as well as rooting effectiveness and sheer kicking power.
Pinan San Dan introduces us to the practicality of the Mawashi foot sweep. It is of key importance to maintain body stability when we kick, in order to deliver maximized impact with that technique. When performing the sequence of 3 consecutive kicks the practitioner should try and focus the crescendo of each one to the specific target point, and not go beyond it.
